Equipment and Uniform for Students
The following information has been collated to provide guidance on Equipment and Uniform for September 2020.
SIMS Parent has been replaced with EduLink One
Our online systems for parents and students have moved from SIMS Parent & SIMS Student to EduLink One as it will provide a better and more intuitive user experience. All information that you would have previously accessed through SIMS parent is available in EduLink One, including attendance information, timetable, behaviour and reports. Please note that Pay360 for online payments will still need to be accessed separately.
1. Please use this link to request your username and set your password: EduLink One Password Setting
You may be prompted for the school ID. This is BMS.
Click on ‘RESET LOGIN’ shown below:
Please note: The ‘Log in with Google’ option is for staff and student use only.
2. Enter the email address that you have provided to the school.
3. You will be sent an email that contains your username and a link to set a password for your account.
4. Once you have your username and password, you will be able to access the EduLink One website: www.edulinkone.com

Pay360 is used for making payments to the school, for school meals and trips for example. It will also allow you to view your child/ren's lunch spending history. You will need to register an account to be able to sign in to Pay360. Invitations can be requested from the School, please email email@example.com
Options Online (Year 9)
You can approve the subject options that your child makes in the following way:
- Sign in to https://www.sims-options.co.uk/ using the details you use for Pay360. If you are unable to sign in, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of your child and we will email an invitation code to you. This will reset your details for both Options Online and Pay360, our online payment system.
- Your child’s choices will be displayed (they will need to make their choices first before you can approve them)
- Tick the Parent/Carer Approval box (bottom left of the screen)
Parents' Evening System
Use Parents' Evening System to book appointments with your child's teachers. We will let you know when a Parents' Evening is scheduled for your children and you can login via the Parents' Evening Login Page.
Sickness and Absence via Studybugs
You can use Studybugs to inform the school about your child being absent from school for medical reasons and you will need to register an account on their site (studybugs.com/about/parents). Alternatively you can leave a message with the school by telephoning 01273 206874 or by sending a text message to 07860 055 853.
Systems for Students
SIMS Student has been replaced with EduLink One
Students can find a link to EduLink One on the Student Channel Homepage and students sign into it by selecting sign in with Google and select their School login details.
Make sure you can sign in to https://www.sims-options.co.uk/
This is likely to be by using your school Google account. Note it will be blank until you are advised by your teacher that it is live.
If you are unable to sign in, please complete this form Problems Signing into Options Online. You will then receive an email invitation in the next two days, to sign up to SIMS Online Services. Follow the instructions in the email.
When your teacher tells you the system has gone live then sign in to https://www.sims-options.co.uk/ and make your choices.
Google provides various systems that are used in school. You can find a number of these by clicking on the link above. Google Classroom is used during some lessons to share resources and to set assignments. Teachers will let students know if that is the case for a particular lesson. To access Google Classroom click on the link above. If prompted to log in to Google, students should use their school email address, which takes the form email@example.com and the password they use to log in to Chromebooks or computers in school. Homework Resources for Students
Homework set for students may refer to the Homework Resources Google Drive. This is accessed here. If prompted to log in to Google, students should use their school email address, which takes the form firstname.lastname@example.org and the password they use to log in to Chromebooks or computers in school. See Google Workspace section above.
Blatchington Mill has a bespoke rewards scheme for good behaviour and results which is delivered via a system called Passport. Teachers generate points in Passport for good progress and behaviour and Students spend those points on a variety of items available on Passport.
The School uses a Biometric System (Fingerprint reader) to identify Students and Staff and allow them to spend money from their accounts in the Canteen.
