Charity Advent Calendar
Blatch are delighted to announce that a number of our students have had their drawings chosen to be a part of the Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals 2020 Advent Calendar! Take a look at the information below to find out more about the advent calendar and how you can purchase one to support the Small Acts of Friendship initiative. We’re delighted that so many of our students have had the opportunity to contribute towards this advent calendar that is raising money for such a worthwhile cause. Well done Jude, Kailysh, Jasper, Scarlet, Keira, Iulia, Mia, Heidi, Yuan, Zac, Charlie, Bella, and Zheng Xiao for your excellent drawings and also a huge well done to Grace who designed the cover of the advent calendar. An excellent effort from Team Blatch!
This year the Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals have created a beautiful, locally designed and produced, advent calendar. Each window features a drawing done by a local school child and a tear off voucher to be redeemed at a local independent retailer. For example, we have 10% off Christmas trees from the Seven Dials florist, 30% off beautiful stationery from 1973's new online shop, 30% off wine from Stopham vineyard plus many other amazing offers. The lockdown has obviously made selling the advent calendar a little bit more challenging for us as none of the retailers featured are open to customers and so they can't help us promote it.
But we won't be beaten by the lockdown so we've set up an online popup Christmas shop - just follow the link below to order your advent calendar and then you can collect it from the Book Nook in Hove or the Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals office in Kemptown.
All the proceeds will go to our Small Acts of Friendship initiative which is a partnership with the Elderly Care Team at Royal Sussex County Hospital. It is a programme of personal services and activities, ranging from hairdressing to music and poetry groups, which help patients keep a sense of dignity, social activity and wellbeing in hospital.
