Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Blatchington Mill School!
We are an inclusive and diverse comprehensive school set in the heart of Hove. Our students are the best thing about Blatch and every day we are blown away by how fantastic our young people are and how lucky we are to help shape their futures.
Supporting all our students to feel that they belong at Blatch is our top priority and we achieve this through building strong and positive relationships, underpinned by exceptional pastoral care. We really listen to our students’ voices and are focused on responding to the ways they suggest we can improve our school.
We have made significant changes over the last few years to improve our standards and outcomes so that our students achieve the best they possibly can, therefore opening more doors to them as they progress to Post 16 courses, university and beyond. Our students achieve GCSE grades significantly above national averages and make excellent progress with us.
We have an exceptional team of staff who are united - regardless of their role in our school - in wanting the best experience for our students and everyone within our community is proud to be a member of Team Blatch. We believe that, with the right support, every child can experience success at school and we work closely with our families to make this a reality.
Alongside academic excellence we provide as many additional opportunities as we can. We have a wide range of extra-curricular activities, numerous different trips (including those for whole year groups) and many leadership roles for students. We encourage all our young people to try new experiences and to get fully involved in our wider school life, supporting them to become confident and articulate young adults who have developed key employability skills such as teamwork, excellent communication, resilience and problem solving by the time they leave us at the end of Year 11.
We are incredibly proud of our school community and we warmly welcome you to become part of Team Blatch too!
