A Taste of Game - Year 10 Cook with Pheasant

On Tuesday the 29th January our GCSE Food students learnt how to work with pheasant. Most of them had never cooked with game before, so this was an excellent opportunity to broaden their skills in the kitchen. The pheasants were very kindly donated by an organisation called 'A Taste of Game' who are keen for young people to experience working with game.

The students had a master class where they learnt how to portion the game before creating a dish of roasted pheasant accompanied by hassle back potatoes and savoy cabbage with bacon - served with a blackberry jus. The students then presented their dish restaurant style.

Mrs Whitby said, ‘Well done to all the students for learning these higher level cooking skills and presenting the dishes so well’.
