Governor Vacancies
Our governing body is responsible for, amongst other duties, promoting high standards of educational achievement. With this in mind, we want to take this opportunity to draw your attention to two vacancies which have recently arisen, which are to serve in a voluntary capacity as parent governor members of our board.
The role of the parent governor offers an opportunity to make a real contribution to the strategic leadership of the school. Although this can be a demanding and delicate role, there is ample support and training available, in the first instance from the Governor Support Team at Brighton & Hove City Council. Parent governors will find working alongside the other members of the board, including the clerk, both interesting and rewarding. Your efforts will ensure that the work of the governing body fulfils its duties to all pupils at the school.
If you are interested in applying, please complete a parent governor application form, found here on the school website, and return it via email to David Harvey, Clerk to Governors, clerktogovernors@blatchingtonmill.org.uk by Wednesday, 6th December 2023
CVs alone cannot be considered.
More information about what being a governor involves can be found on Brighton and Hove's Become a school governor page and the new videos they have released to encourage more people to take on the role of governor can be found here: New governor recruitment videos.

Applications are encouraged from black and ethnic minority candidates, as these groups are under-represented on the governing body.
