Vacancy: Co-opted Governor
As you may already know, the school has in place a governing body which is responsible for, amongst other duties, promoting high standards of educational achievement. With this in mind, we want to take this opportunity to draw your attention to a vacancy recently arisen, which is to serve in a voluntary capacity as a co-opted governor member of our board.
We believe the role of the co-opted governor offers an opportunity to make a real contribution to the strategic management of the school, providing an interesting and rewarding dimension to work. I should emphasise that, although this can be a demanding and delicate role, there is ample support and training available - in the first instance, from the local authority. Effective co-opted governors will find working alongside the other members of the board (including ourselves) both interesting and rewarding in that their efforts will ensure that the work of the governing body fulfils its duties to all our pupils at the school.
If you are interested in applying for such a role, please complete an application form and return it by the closing date to the Clerk to Governors by email [email protected]
CVs alone will not be considered, all applications must be received by the closing date of 24th July 2018.
Blatchington Mill School is committed to safeguarding our students; we expect all staff and volunteers to support this commitment. Criminal record checks will be carried out and a full, enhanced DBS clearance is required for all positions.
Applications are encouraged from black and ethnic minority candidates, as these groups are under-represented on the school's staff.
(Race Relations Act sections 35-38 apply).
