Charity Events at Blatch
In the lead up to the festive period at Blatchington Mill we held a number of charity events that enabled us to give something back to our local community. We’re now delighted to share that not only did we manage to raise over £1300 for local charities, but we were also able to hold a Senior Citizens Christmas tea party and make a sizeable donation to the Purple People and Hangleton and West Blatchington food banks!
The Hangleton and West Hove food banks said, ‘Thank you to all the parents and young people who took the time and effort to donate to our Foodbank this Christmas. These donations will see us through the next months as we continue to support people experiencing food poverty in Hangleton and Hove’.
We managed to raise £1097 for the Starr Trust through our seasonal jumper day which took place on our last day of term. Here are some of our students and staff in their festive jumpers!
We also held our popular Christmas in the Quad event in aid of the Martlets’ Hospice, which raised over £300. Christmas in the Quad features a range of ‘market’ stalls as well as Christmas karaoke and performances from some of our wonderful musicians.
We’d like to say a massive well done to everyone who made these events possible and a huge thank you to everyone who donated to our various charities – the response from our school community is always excellent and we’re proud to have had another successful period of pre-Christmas fundraising!
