Blatch at the Bilingual Primary School
On Thursday 6th December, four of our year 10 Spanish students had the opportunity to visit the Bilingual Primary School. Our students delivered a Spanish assembly all about life at Blatchington Mill and then answered all the primary school pupils’ questions.
Following the assembly, our students went to assist a year 3 class with a history project all about Pompeii! Our students were so impressed by the standard of the children’s Spanish skills and for one of our students, Sheila, the trip confirmed that she would like to work in a primary school in the future. She said: ‘I like visiting the young students and to see how the teachers work there- I really like how they use songs as a way to learn. It was amazing to be in an assembly all in Spanish. I am interested in working with babies and young children when I am older. The head of Spanish even offered for me to do work experience at the school.’
This was the third time we have taken students to the Bilingual School and we’re always so grateful for the warm welcome that we receive. Thanks to the Bilingual School for having us and to Ms Heaton for organising the trip!
