Bike Donation for Blatch’s New Cycling Group
Blatchington Mill would like to extend a huge thank you to Peter Lindsay, founder and manager of O3e, who generously donated 10 brand new bikes to us!
O3e run team building events for companies which involve building bikes and sports wheelchairs. At the end of each event, they donate the bikes and wheelchairs to different charities and youth organisations, and Blatch was delighted to receive some bikes that had been built by 'Just Eat' at one of their team building events on the 18th October in London.
The bikes have already been used as part of our new girls’ cycling group. Lidia, one of our year 9 students, said: ‘The new bikes are really comfortable and look amazing. I don’t have a bike myself and having a bike here at school has been great. My confidence has increased. I couldn’t ride a bike before I started the club and now I can. I sent a video of myself riding to my parents and they were so proud. It has given me the taste to ride and I want to continue into Year 10 and 11.’
Mr Harrold, Head Teacher, said: ‘It’s great to see so many of our students taking part in the new group and feeling enthusiastic about riding bikes. Thanks to the kind donation from O3e and Just Eat, we can now offer access to bikes for those who do not have one at home.’
We’re so grateful to Peter and the team at Just Eat for their kind donation and look forward to continuing our girls’ cycling group!
