Personal and Social Education
PSE is about the promotion of the personal and social development of students, developing confidence and responsibility. Students learn to make the most of their abilities, have a healthy and safer lifestyle, develop good relationships and respect the differences between people. We aim to give pupils the skills, knowledge and understanding to become informed, active and responsible citizens.
Course Description
In year 7 PSE is taught for one hour a week by the Year 7 Tutors.
In year 8 a specialist PSE team teach one group for an hour a week. In year 9, students are taught by specialists in a hour a week, but they are rotated on a carousel every 6 weeks. In year 10 and 11 students are taught by PSE specialists for one hour a fortnight
Students are encourages to work in circle time activities, group work and in individual projects. The lessons are well supported with up-to-date resource material.
