Record GCSE results again for Blatch

2009 Results

It was another record year for BMS at GCSE. 65% of our students achieved 5 or more A*- C grades including English and Maths. Our 5 A*- C figure again exceeded 80% (compared to 70% nationally) and our A*- A grades rose to 32% (compared to 21.5% nationally).

Student achievement in the core subjects at GCSE continues to rise; Double Award Science reached 84% A*-C and 39% A*/A. English Language GCSE rose to 75% A*-C and 29% A*/A. Maths GCSE reached 72% A*-C and 21% A*-A.

Non-core subjects remained equally strong; A*- C grades in Media, Spanish and Drama exceeded 90% and History A*- C for example rose to 88%. ICT students achieved 275 A grades at GCSE.

96% of students at BMS achieved 5+ A*-G grades and 99.7% achieved 1 A*-G.
