Billie Godfrey singing masterclass

Billie Godfrey, singer and songwriter, is giving a special singing masterclass to students preparing for the Stars in Their Eyes contest, Gifted and Talented students, our choir and music students.

As a lead vocalist, Billie has toured with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and also part of Jool’s TV house band backing artists such as Sir Paul McCartney and Annie Lennox, Adele, Duffy, Amy Winehouse and James Morrison among others. She has also backed many legendary artists such Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie, Sting, INXS, Sam Moore, Paul Weller and 60’s Icon Donovan and sung pop vocals for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Alesha Dixon and Take That’s Mark Owen.

Billie has just finished a solo album “The Eden Tree” featuring 12 original songs influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Ray LaMontagne and Minnie Riperton - it will be available on ITunes by end 2009 (go to billiegodfrey.com to join mailing list for release news).

Billie will soon be on tour with Beverly Knight and you can see her at the Brighton Dome on Thursday 12th November.
