Stanmer Park Cycling Sessions

Mr Carbis and Mr Burdick arranged three cycling days at Stanmer Park. Twenty-five students participated on each of the three days, 11th 12th and 13th July.

Mr Carbis and Mr Burdick provided tuition and coaching in mtb skills. They also got the opportunity to ride the fantastic single track in Stanmer woods.

Mr Burdick and Mr Carbis (Technical MTB Leaders) were very impressed with the progression of students and the level of skills. They commented that although some of the riding was gnarly and technical, they were impressed as the students showed positive attitude in ‘giving it a go’.

Mr Burdick commented “Sessions were a bit damp, well actually raining stair rods at times! Conditions were also pretty gloopy and porridge like! But ….kids loved it and lots of happy photos on the portal (in galleries on student home page).”

Mr Carbis and Mr Burdick would also like to thanks Ms Whitby for her support.

More opportunities for riding in Stanmer Park are available to all Blatch students on selected Fridays after school next year with Blatch Bike Club. Watch the portal and plasma screens for notices as they are posted.
