School closing at 2pm on
Tuesday 9th June

Dear Parents/Carers

We have been advised by Southern Water that a new hydrant has to be installed in the vicinity of the school. This means that our school will have no water for the period of installation.

I have therefore reluctantly decided that the school will close one hour earlier on Tuesday 9th June 2009. Therefore, your child will be sent home from school shortly after 2pmon Tuesday afternoon.

Students who have an examination; Business Studies and/or Business Finance will remain to finish the exam and we will ensure their needs are fully attended to.

The following arrangements will apply for those students who travel by bus.

Buses

Service 96 will run an hour earlier
- it will come onto the school site (Nevill Avenue entrance) at 2.05 pm.

Service 5B
Students will need to alight this bus at Frant Road (2.08 pm/2.18 pm – every 10 minutes)

Service 52 will run at the normal time and will come onto the school site (Nevill Avenue) at 3.05 pm.

We expect the school to be operating normally on Wednesday but would advise you to listen to Southern FM in case of any unforeseen circumstance.

Yours sincerely,

Janet Felkin
Headteacher
