Welcome to Blatch6
Janet Felkin
Learning is a life-long process and not something that ends when compulsory education comes to an end. Consequently, I am pleased you are seriously considering continuing or re-kindling your studies in order to fulfil your ambition.
Our Sixth Form is seen as the natural "next step" for the majority of our own students but has also proved to be attractive to students from other schools, adults from the wider community too. More recently, there has been close collaboration with Hove Park Sixth Form Centre. Some students from both institutions may take some of their courses in the `other' sixth form.
Our sixth form students have sole access to our newly refurbished Blatch6 building. This offers an Open Learning Area, some of our classrooms, the Common Room and the sixth form administration. Lessons take place in specialist rooms across the campus and we encourage our sixth form students when providing role models to the younger students.
Our sixth form students are seen as the example of new ideas, engagement in projects, interest in causes and being active in their beliefs.
Furthermore, Blatchington Mill is established as a specialist college for the Performing Arts, Mathematics and Computing and more recently Applied Learning and Gifted and Talented.

Blatch6 offers a wide range of academic Level 3 courses which are supplemented by an increasing number of vocational opportunities at Level 2 and 3.
Blatch6 is largely self-contained and provides opportunities for students to grow towards independence and confidence. We pride ourselves on our support and guidance for each student, providing each with intellectual stimulation to achieve to the very best of their ability. Our pastoral care and knowledge of our students ensures academic success and personal development to guide them towards their further steps and goals.
