Course Content

The BTEC First Diploma is made up of six units and is equivalent to 4 GCSEs A-C.
The BTEC First Certificate is made up of three units and is equivalent to 2 GCSEs
A-C.

The course intends to be a mix of practical and theoretical units allowing learners to demonstrate practical ability as well as use information and write assignments based on real Travel and Tourism situations.

Units to be covered will include:

• The UK travel & tourism industry
• Exploring customer service in travel & tourism
• UK travel & tourism destinations
• European travel & tourism destinations
• Developing employability skills for travel & tourism
• Planning visits for travel & tourism

The assessment is 100% Coursework

Possible Careers

This can lead to further study of related courses at advanced level including the Diploma in travel & tourism, A levels or BTEC national qualifications. All of these are acceptable at higher education institutions.
It can also lead directly in to employment in the travel and tourism industry.
