AssessmentStudents will build up a portfolio of work for assessment by an external verifier. Students will complete assessments and assignments during the course. There will be no terminal examination to complete. The standard of work in students’ portfolio will determine the level achieved. During the one-year course some students will achieve Level 1, whereas others may go on to achieve Level 2. Possible Careers Many colleges offer NVQ language units. Students can progress up the ladder of language qualification. There are five levels, from level 1 to 5. Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE Grade C and Level 5 is degree level. Employers are familiar with and recognise NVQ qualifications.
