BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care

BTEC Health and Social Care is work related. All the topics you learn relate to the skills and knowledge you will need in the work place. There are no exams; instead you will complete 6 assignments. You will be encouraged to take responsibility for your own learning. The course includes visits to local health care providers and visiting speakers who come into College and share their knowledge and experience. The course includes several practical activities and you will also need to complete a 2 week related work placement.

Those who hope to have a career in health and social care need to understand the skills involved in caring for people with different needs; birth to old age. The course offers a good basis for anyone wanting a career in nursing, childcare, support work, mental health or youth work.

  • Care Setting (2 week placement)
